Supporting Greece’s and Cyprus’s workforce of the future and digital transformation efforts, SAP along with its partners Accenture S.A., BYTE Computer AEBE, d.d.synergy Hellas S.A., Deloitte Ltd., Deloitte Business Solutions S.A., Intrasoft International S.A., Pricewaterhousecoopers Business Solution S.A., Real Consulting IT Business Solutions S.A. and Supernova Consulting are empowering young professionals in digital skills and careers through the SAP Go Digital Program as part of the SAP Athinà Program. This is the second cohort after the successful launch of the program in July 2020. The initiative is part of SAP’s commitment to build digital skills and create sustainable work opportunities while supporting the Digital Transformation of organizations in Greece and Cyprus through the right-skilled talent.

Nearly nine in ten executives and managers (87%) say their organizations either face skill gaps or are expecting gaps to develop within the next five years, according to a McKinsey survey from 2020. Considering the ongoing impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, these numbers will possibly increase further due to a significant rise in the demand for digital tools and processes. Initiatives such as the SAP Go Digital Program as part of the SAP Athinà Program directly address these challenges and help to further drive digital transformation in Greece and Cyprus.

“The past months have highlighted the importance of digital technologies. As organisations continue their efforts in building intelligent enterprise capabilities, they need access to digitally skilled talent. We would like to thank our partners for supporting this initiative and joining hands with us to empower young, talented people to play a leading role in driving digital transformation in our countries,” says Andreas Xirocostas, Managing Director SAP Greece, Cyprus and Malta.

The SAP Go Digital Program, an initiative by the SAP Training and Development Institute (SAP TDI), focuses on SAP’s latest innovations and covers a full development plan, including personal and business skills, functional or technical knowledge of SAP solutions to become SAP Associate Consultants.

In Greece and Cyprus, the SAP Go Digital Program was hosted under the umbrella of the SAP Athinà Program, which was announced in February 2020. So far, 70 talents have been trained and certified on SAP Certifications in a fully virtual learning environment. The goal of the SAP Athinà Program is to create 300 new digital positions in the SAP Ecosystem over a three-year period, with a focus on our market. The participants of this year’s program are now SAP certified Associate Consultants on both Business Process Integration with SAP S/4HANA 2020 and SAP S/4HANA Cloud Professional Services Implementation.
